The NWA Humane Society for Animals is participating in NWA Gives this year!!!  The Giving day is officially April 4th!  Look for ways to double your donation through matching grants from our local partners!!!

The NWA Humane Society for Animals is experiencing record high animal intake numbers and extremely low adoption rates.  In 2023, the shelter took in over 700 animals with only 249 adoptions.

Because of the low adoption rates, we have reached out to shelter and rescue organizations throughout the U.S. for help. Partnering with others creates the opportunity to provide pets with loving homes as quickly as possible.  In 2023, we transported 433 dogs and cats to ‘fur’ever homes outside of the NWA area.  Giving these animals a safe, happy new home, not available locally.  The animals came from 24 different participating shelters and rescue groups across the state, giving all shelters the ability to take in more animals.  Approximately 1/3 of the 433 animals came from our shelter.

The Transport Hub, currently located in our old shelter, is providing a temporary safe haven for shelter animals while they wait a short time before continuing their journey to other areas for adoption.  Once the remodel of the Transport Hub is complete (anticipate Fall 2024), we expect the number of transported animals to DOUBLE!

The Transport Hub will provide drivers and their pet passengers a safe place to rest, recharge and refuel. The drivers will be able to start the next leg of the journey with their passengers loaded and ready to ride!

The next area of focus will be a Low Cost Spay and Neuter facility located near our current shelter.  Our hope is to provide low or reduced cost spay and neuters to the public and reduced cost veterinary care to Veterans and those on fixed budgets to assist keeping pets home with their families.

Your support is needed NOW, more than ever!  The NWA Humane Society for Animals is so grateful to the community for donating money, goods and time that  make it possible for us to continue our mission of caring for the homeless, stray and abandoned pets of Benton County.

What a DIFFERENCE you have made for so many animals!!!
